Grading Supervisor

DMS is looking for a Grading Supervisor to join our Te Puna team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help ensure our fruit meets the highest quality standards while supporting a team to deliver great results throughout the season.

We’re a locally owned Bay of Plenty business managing kiwifruit and avocado orchards and operating post-harvest facilities in Te Puna and Te Puke. Our purpose is Increasing Grower Profit, and we believe that starts with great people working together.

What you’ll do

Guide, train and support grading staff in their day-to-day work.

Maintain accurate grading standards and ensure fruit meets customer, export and quality requirements.

Work alongside the Quality and Production teams to achieve daily targets.

Monitor quality, identify issues and help find practical solutions.

Ensure sampling, records and compliance requirements are kept up to standard.

Help create a positive, quality-focused and safe working environment.

What we’re looking for

Experience in fruit grading, quality control, inspection or a similar role.

A good understanding of fruit quality and grading standards.

Confidence guiding and training others, with previous team leadership experience an advantage.

Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving approach.

Good communication skills and the ability to work well with different teams.

A positive attitude, initiative and flexibility in a busy seasonal environment.

Experience in kiwifruit, avocados or a packhouse environment would be an advantage. Familiarity with export quality requirements and food safety standards is also beneficial.
