About the role
Lead the next evolution of procurement at Channel. Working across suppliers, operations and major projects, you’ll strengthen how Channel procures, contracts and partners to deliver value, manage risk and support future growth.
Key responsibilities
Lead procurement and contracting across opex, capex, major projects, services, equipment and operational requirements.
Develop sourcing, contracting and supplier strategies that support resilience, growth and investment priorities.
Shape procurement approaches from early project development through tendering, negotiation, award and delivery.
Negotiate significant contracts, balancing cost, value, risk, supplier performance and commercial outcomes.
Lift procurement governance, systems, reporting and commercial capability.
Manage electricity purchasing and identify opportunities to reduce transmission and distribution costs.
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing procurement and commercial contracting team.
This role can be based in Marsden Point or Auckland, with flexibility to work across both locations.
About you
Senior experience in commercial procurement, sourcing, contracting or supply chain.
Experience managing complex opex and capex procurement portfolios.
Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills and contract law knowledge.
Confidence influencing executives, operational leaders, project teams, suppliers and contractors.
Experience building procurement strategies, supplier frameworks and contract management discipline.
EPC delivery experience and familiarity with NEC4 or similar collaborative contract frameworks would be highly regarded.
A relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain, commerce, business, engineering, law, finance or a related discipline.
