Health & Safety Advisor | Electronic Security | National Role

• We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to provide practical leadership, guidance and assurance across our Electronic Security operations supporting our largest contract.
• This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with operational leaders, project teams, technicians, contractors and client representatives to ensure work is delivered safely across high security environments throughout New Zealand.

About the Role

You will be responsible for

• Providing practical health and safety advice to operational and project teams
• Supporting leaders, technicians and contractors to identify and manage risk
• Conducting site inspections, audits and assurance reviews
• Reviewing SWMS, JSA/JSEAs, permits, lift plans, traffic management plans and work methodologies
• Leading and supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Facilitating contractor onboarding and contractor compliance activities
• Monitoring critical risk controls and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Building strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Preparing health and safety reporting and identifying emerging risks and trends
• Supporting compliance with legislative, contractual and client requirements

About You

To be successful in this role you will have

• Minimum 5 years' Health & Safety experience
• Strong knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
• Experience in operational, field service, maintenance, construction, infrastructure or project environments
• Strong incident investigation and risk management capability
• Experience conducting audits, inspections and assurance activities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to influence and coach people at all levels of an organisation
• A practical and solutions-focused approach to health and safety
• A willingness to travel nationally as required

Highly Regarded

• Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
• Electronic Security
• Construction
• Facilities Management
• Infrastructure
• Telecommunications
• Utilities
• Justice Sector or Department of Corrections environments
• Defence or Critical Infrastructure environments

Qualifications that would be beneficial include

• NZ Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice Level 4 (or equivalent)
• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety
• Membership of NZISM, HASANZ, IOSH or equivalent professional body
• * Incident Investigation or Lead Auditor qualification
