About the role

Join the dedicated team at Royal Heights Rest Home in Massey, Auckland as a Healthcare Assistant.

This role will be casual in the interim, providing cover for regular caregivers taking leave from next month, with a guaranteed transition to full-time employment before the end of the year as we open additional beds.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting residents with their daily living activities such as personal care, mobility, meals and social engagement

2. Monitoring residents' health and alerting registered nurses to any changes or concerns

3. Support medication administration within scope and facility policy

4. Assist with basic wound care, including simple dressings and skin care monitoring

5. Observe and report changes in residents' health and wellbeing

6. Maintain accurate documentation and care records

7. Support residents’ independence, dignity, and emotional wellbeing

8. Assist with meals and hydration needs

9. Maintain a clean, safe, and homely environment

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar role in an aged care or healthcare setting

2. Proven experience with medication support or administration

3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with residents and their families

4. Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a close-knit care team

5. Demonstrable commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care

6. Experience in basic wound care and skin integrity management

7. Knowledge of relevant aged care and healthcare regulations and standards

8. Flexible and reliable with a can-do attitude.
