About the role

Royal Heights Rest Home is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team in Massey, Auckland. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our elderly residents. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality aged care services. You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering nursing care to residents whilst ensuring their dignity, comfort and wellbeing are maintained at all times. This role is integral to maintaining the standards of care that Royal Heights Rest Home is known for within our community.

Key responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised nursing care for residents based on their presenting health needs and preferences

Administer medications and treatments according to clinical protocols and resident care plans

Monitor and record residents' vital signs and health status, reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team

Liaise with general practitioners, specialists and other healthcare professionals regarding resident healthcare needs

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care, treatments and health outcomes

Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding health management and care procedures

Supervise and mentor care assistants and support staff within the nursing team

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, infection control procedures and aged care standards

Contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all residents and staff members

What we're looking for

Current New Zealand Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand

Minimum of 2 years' experience in aged care, rest home, hospital-level care, or dementia care settings.

Strong knowledge of aged care assessment frameworks, care planning and evidence-based nursing practice

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams

Proficiency in electronic health records and computer systems

Current First Aid and CPR certification

A commitment to person-centred care and understanding of the unique needs of older adults

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a busy environment
