\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n The Opportunity:\r\n\r\nThe Human Resources Coordinator is a key member of the HR Team at the Speedvale facility in Guelph, Ontario, supporting frontline team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the onsite HR Manager, this role provides experienced HR coordination and frontline support, ensuring HR programs, policies, and processes are executed accurately, consistently, and in alignment with company values.\r\n\r\n\r\nAs part of a smaller This role requires an individual who can operate with a high degree of ownership, manage competing priorities, and build credibility with employees and supervisors through responsiveness, sound judgement, and strong follow through. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\nHR Operations & Employee Support\r\n\r\n\r\n\tServe as the first point of contact for all HR related inquiries, providing clear information, guidance, and timely follow up\r\n\tMaintain accurate and up to date employee records in SAP, including job changes, wage updates, personnel information, and employment status\r\n\tRespond to employee inquiries related to leaves of absence, benefits and pension programs, payroll/ADP, and HR policies and procedures\r\n\tEnsure employee communications, forms, and resources are kept current and accessible to frontline team members\r\n\tMaintain accurate and confidential paper and electronic personnel files\r\n\r\n\r\nPayroll, Time & Attendance\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAdminister bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate coding and approvals in Kronos and timely resolution of discrepancies\r\n\tProcess payroll for third party contractors as required\r\n\tSupport payroll audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and timelines\r\n\r\n\r\nRecruitment, Onboarding & Orientation\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLead full cycle recruitment for frontline and temporary roles, including internal job postings, coordination with supervisors, interviews, and hiring documentation\r\n\tCoordinate and facilitate new hire orientation for full time and temporary employees, ensuring completion of all required documentation and training records in collaboration with FSQA and Health & Safety\r\n\tManage onboarding activities including first day readiness, shift details, locker assignments, system access, and timely data entry into SAP\r\n\r\n\r\nEmployee Relations & Attendance Management\r\n\r\n\r\n\tProvide day to day support for employee relations matters, including participation in investigations, documentation, and follow up actions, with guidance from the HR Manager\r\n\tPrepare employee correspondence and disciplinary documentation as required\r\n\tLead the attendance management program, maintain accurate trackers, and provide guidance to supervisors on process and expectations\r\n\tMaintain HR trackers related to attendance, discipline, recruitment, and investigations to support consistency and record keeping\r\n\r\n\r\nSystems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAssist with HR metrics, reporting, and SAP data analysis to support operational decision making\r\n\tCoordinate and support annual employee training programs and compliance activities\r\n\tIdentify opportunities to improve HR processes, communication, and coordination\r\n\r\n\r\nGeneral Site & Engagement Support\r\n\r\n\r\n\tManage the swipe card access program for new hires, employees on leave, terminations, and visitors\r\n\tProvide site reception support as required, including greeting visitors, managing sign in procedures, and coordinating deliveries\r\n\tSupport plant employee engagement and social activities\r\n\tComplete ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPost secondary education in Human Resources or a related field (CHRP designation or progress toward designation considered an asset)\r\n\t2–4 years of Human Resources experience, ideally in a manufacturing or operational environment\r\n\tDemonstrated experience supporting HR operations, recruitment, payroll, and employee relations processes\r\n\tStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially\r\n\tProven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and urgency\r\n\tStrong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail\r\n\tProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HR systems (SAP, Kronos, or similar systems considered an asset)\r\n\tInitiative, sound problem solving skills, and a collaborative, hands on approach\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best. \r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
