\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nAs part of Maple Leaf Foods’ Maintenance Team, the individual will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility for the daily production of our products. In doing so, they will support safe plant operations, uphold a safe working environment for all team members, and ensure equipment and processes align with our commitment to animal welfare standards. Please note that this role operates on a night shift schedule. \r\n \r\n\r\nOur Electrician rate is $46.81/hour, with an additional premium of $0.70/hour for the night shift.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Perks of Joining Our Team:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAnnual Tool Allowance\r\n\tAnnual Safety Footwear and Eyewear Allowances\r\n\t100% Employer-Paid Benefits (health, dental, STD, LTD, life insurance)\r\n\tDefined Contribution Pension Plan\r\n\tEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\r\n\tCorporate discounts (e.g., GoodLife Fitness, Rogers)\r\n\tCommitment to Learning – courses, resources, and tools provided to all employees\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You Will Bring:\r\n\r\nThe successful candidate will be results-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to develop positive working relationships with all employees.\r\n\r\n\r\n\tJourneyman Ticker or Red Seal Electrician Certification (required)\r\n\tMust have own hand tools (Power tools are provided)\r\n\tStrong knowledge of plant and equipment operations\r\n\tProven ability to troubleshoot and solve electrical issues in a fast-paced environment\r\n\tGood mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills\r\n\tAbility to organize, prioritize, and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision\r\n\tComfortable working both independently and in a team-based environment\r\n\tExcellent interpersonal and communication skills\r\n\tAbility to work collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, and cross-functional teams\r\n\tWillingness and ability to work overnight shifts\r\n\tAvailability for weekend overtime as production demands require\r\n\tPhysically capable of handling equipment (in excess of 25 kg)\r\n\tPoultry or food production experience is considered an asset\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nA Snapshot of Some of the Exciting Things You Will Lead and Do:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tTroubleshoot, repair, and install processing equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems, to ensure efficient and timely resolution of issues\r\n\tProgram, troubleshoot, and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor controls, temperature sensors, and safety devices\r\n\tPerform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems ranging from 24V to 575V (including 3-phase), with a strong understanding of field wiring up to 600V AC\r\n\tRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and logic/flow diagrams to support troubleshooting and system improvements Apply working knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and PLC systems to maintain and optimize equipment performance\r\n\tPerform preventative maintenance and complete work orders, accurately tracking labour, parts, and inventory within a computerized maintenance system\r\n\tRespond to verbal, written, and electronic work requests, applying corrective actions in a timely and effective manner\r\n\tUtilize mechanical knowledge to support integrated electrical and equipment troubleshooting\r\n\tMaintain accurate records, including notes, labour hours, and parts usage in SAP or equivalent systems\r\n\tCommunicate daily repair activities and equipment status with Maintenance, Production, and cross-functional teams\r\n\tAdhere to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS, BRC, and Company policies and procedures\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n
