\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nTest The Maintenance Team at MLF Walker Drive is looking for a Single/Dual Ticketed Millwright with significant experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical and mechanical services and equipment in the plant. The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast paced, food manufacturing environment and have a demonstrated ability to work safely, ensuring safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.\r\n \r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by August 05. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n \r\n\r\nHourly Rate:  $40.00\r\nReason for vacancy:  Existing Headcount \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tTrouble shooting/repairs/installations of mechanical services\r\n\tCarryout oral/printed work request and apply corrective measures in a timely fashion\r\n\tHave intermediate grasp of related mechanical requirements and apply corrective measures\r\n\tPerform PM and regular Work Orders and account for inventory and labour on computerized maintenance system.\r\n\tSAP experience is an asset\r\n\tWelding repairs and/or fabrication of equipment parts to Food Safety standards\r\n\tFulfill mechanical requirements of work orders and trouble shooting and repairs c/w requesting assistance where necessary\r\n\tPerform machining and sheet metal work for equipment repairs and/or upgrades to meet equipment and Food Safety spec’s\r\n\tCommunicate daily repair activity with Supervisors and with other Departments\r\n\tWork in compliance with all Health and Safety, Food Safety and HACCP requirements\r\n\tOther responsibilities as assigned\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tHolds an Industrial Millwright Mechanic license with 2 – 3 years of experience in a manufacturing food processing environment as an Industrial Mechanic \r\n\tKnowledge of conveyors, pumps / compressor, electrical / electronic controls and high-speed packaging equipment.\r\n\tAbility to operate a forklift, boom truck, and scissor lift; comfortable working at heights.\r\n\tAbility to complete work orders and organize and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision.\r\n\tFormax and Multivac equipment knowledge is an asset\r\n\tAbility to work in a team based environment.\r\n\r\n\r\nHealth and Safety:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDemonstrated ability to wear proper PPE and comply with safety requirements\r\n\tLifting up to 60 lbs, bending and reaching\r\n\tPushing, pulling and overhead reaching\r\n\tProlonged standing and climbing (ladder to the hopper)\r\n\r\n\r\nCommunication, Cooperation & Continuous Improvement Skills:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAbility to read, write and communicate in English\r\n\tPositive interaction and information sharing with Associates and Salaried Team\r\n\tActive participation in Work Group meetings\r\n\tAbility to obtain pertinent information, evaluate information objectively and explore alternative solutions to problems\r\n\tActively finding new and improved ways of completing tasks\r\n\tWilling to try new things and assume additional responsibilities\r\n\tCross-shift communication\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.\r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
