Job Description

Collaborative and impactful role

New Zealand Nurse Practitioner contributing to the School’s registered Nurse Prescriber and Nurse Practitioner programmes

Great Team Environment

Part-time (0.6FTE), permanent position working at AUT's North Campus (Akoranga)

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is New Zealand's newest university and one of its most distinctive. Centred on students and grounded in knowledge that works, AUT is 5-star rated by QS, with more than 27,000 students and 4,000 staff based primarily across three Auckland campuses. It's a place of real opportunity, where the values of Pono, Tika and Aroha shape how talented, progressive people work together – and you'll feel that in the culture, in the collaboration and in the difference the work makes for students, communities and the world.

Our community is stronger because of the role Te Tiriti plays in how we operate, and because Māori and Pacific knowledge, leadership and contribution are central to who we are. We embrace diversity in all its forms and are proud to welcome people of all ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religious and political beliefs, socio-economic situations and accessibility needs.

The School of Nursing at AUT has recently been established as its own school, recognising the significant impact and achievement of nursing at AUT as part of a wider promotion of clearer school identities and disciplinary alignments (whilst also enhancing faculty-level connectivity and addressing school size disparities).

AUT’s School of Nursing stands out as New Zealand's leading nursing educator and is ranked among the world's 100 (Shanghai Ranking). We have a wonderful community of deeply committed academic scholars, clinical educators and professional colleagues focused on improving health outcomes both within New Zealand and internationally. Guided by Te Aronui (AUT's Te Tiriti framework), our school ensures graduates are not only clinically proficient but also culturally aware. Courses are designed to meet the shifting needs of healthcare and drive progress in patient care through ongoing world-class research. Alongside close industry ties, our strong links to Health New Zealand, hospitals and private practices ensure that our students gain extensive clinical experience. We become a standalone school in 2025; energy is high, and it is a hugely exciting time to consider joining us. The School is part of our dynamic Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences.
