Lab Assistant

Job Description Summary

Role Purpose

• •Ensure that all program and procedures are followed and implemented as described by the company guidelines.
• •Maintain a high degree of quality, while working efficiently and cost effectively.
• •Responsible for processing and analyzing samples collected from the farms under direct supervision of the Pedigree Laboratory Department Supervisor.Job Description:
• Applicants are not allowed to own any kind of birds due to the risk of possible disease transmission.

Job Duties

• Maintain sufficient inventory of supplies to prevent work delays
• Accurately process and analyze samples in a time efficient manner
• Follow procedures outlined in the laboratory work instructions
• Prepare media and solutions used in the laboratory
• Enter samples and results into data management system
• Be willing to work weekend rotations
• Responsible for the quality of work performed as well as the quality of the product produced.
• Follow company policy and meet established procedures regarding bio-security, animal welfare, safety, ISO, drug, and alcohol policy.
• Ensure all possible controls are in place to preserve and protect the purity and security of our bloodlines from possible contamination and/or theft.
• Attendance is expected and required during normal working hours or during the assigned working schedule determined by the supervisor.

Desired Requirements for the Role

Specific Experience

• Previous lab experience preferred but not requiredSpecific Training:
• Basic computer knowledge including creating documents and spreadsheets
• Ability to communicate via email
• Personal Qualities:
• Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to accomplish daily and weekly goals as well as deal with changing testing needs requested by supervisors or the veterinarian
