Above all, you will share our commitment to delivering an exceptional student experience and sustaining the department's reputation for teaching quality and student support. Our history degree is consistently highly rated by students. In the recent Times University League tables, the course ranked 7th for teaching satisfaction, and 10th for the student experience. Students benefit from small class sizes, close interaction with research-active staff, and a learning environment that encourages discussion, debate, and the critical analysis of historical sources.

The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate modules in British History spanning the Georgian period to the twentieth century, contribute to teaching in intellectual history, act as a personal tutor, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research.
