  • As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Pure Mathematics, you will lead innovative research that connects pure and applied mathematics, influencing real-world scientific challenges.
  • You will design and deliver high-impact teaching, mentoring diverse students across undergraduate, MSc and PhD programmes.

  • What you will deliver:
  • Conduct high quality research linking pure and applied mathematics, publishing in leading international journals.
  • Secure competitive external research funding and contribute to collaborative projects across the School and Faculty.
  • Design and deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics subjects, including coordination and assessment responsibilities.
  • Supervise MSc and PhD research students, fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments and academic success.
  • Contribute to School governance, outreach, and public engagement, promoting mathematics within diverse communities.

  • Hold a PhD or equivalent research higher degree in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrate research excellence through strong publications and an emerging or established international reputation, relative to opportunity.
  • Show capacity to strengthen the school's research and education activities and broaden existing thematic strengths.
  • Build productive research collaborations and attract competitive funding through national or international grant or contract schemes.
  • Design and teach subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with clear evidence of supervision potential.
