We're Hiring

We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Local Truck Driver in our Shipping & Receiving department at our Leamington, Ontario facility.

What You'll Do

• Comply with Ministry of Transportation Laws, rules and regulations, as well as Nature Fresh policies and guidelines
• Transport goods and materials to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner
• Making sure that the load bars and straps are in place to ensure the loads are properly secured when picking up loaded trailers
• Complete a circle check and inspection of the vehicle to include tires, lights etc. and submit work orders as necessary
• Required to report all issues, unsafe conditions and make suggestions
• Maintain a daily truck log using Geotab
• Monitoring Smartsheet to ensure all scheduled tasks delegated are completed in a timely manner
• General maintenance duties including checking fluid levels in trucks and reefer trailers, minor repairs like changing out light bulbs and washing trucks
• Maintaining clean equipment, trucks are kept clean and presentable inside and out, sweeping trailers as needed
• Shunt truck operation as needed. Bringing in empty trailers and pulling out loaded ones for shipping/receiving/dry goods. Locating dropped trailers in the trailer parking area to be put in docks, this includes the dry goods docks
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks when needed
• Must comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures

What You Bring

• Valid AZ license and clean driving record
• Must have a clean driver's abstract
• Minimum 3 years of truck driving experience
• Good communication skills, attention to detail
• Must be patient and drive responsibly
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Forklift experience is an asset but not required

What To Expect

• Safety shoes are mandatory
• Work with minimal supervision for most of the day
• Driving, walking, sitting, and standing throughout the day
• Must be available to work Monday-Sunday
• Smoking is prohibited in all company vehicles
• Must be able to work in different weather conditions - snow, rain, fog, cold and heat
• Must be able to get in and out of the company vehicle as needed
• There may be an occasional need for some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Balance between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the warehouse – some forklift driving may be required.
• Raising or lowering of landing gear on dropped trailers when doing trailer swaps (drop and hook)
• Sweeping out trailers as needed
