Maintenance Engineer (Fixed Term)

Our Fleet Services Team provides essential technical support for cranes and mobile plant equipment. We’re looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team on a fixed-term basis, backfilling a vacancy while other team members are supporting project secondments.

The initial fixed term will run until 21 March 2027. Subject to project requirements, the term may be extended, with a potential end date of September 2028.

About the role

Reporting within the Fleet Services structure to the Technical Operations Manager and taking day-to-day direction from the Foreman and Level 3s, you’ll contribute to the maintenance and reliability of cranes and other plant and equipment.

Your key responsibilities will include

• Completing scheduled and day-to-day maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
• Fault finding, troubleshooting and repairing cranes and other plant and equipment.
• Responding to breakdowns to minimise downtime and operational disruption.
• Contributing to preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Supporting improvements in equipment reliability, availability and maintenance efficiency.
• Participating in the call-out roster to provide after-hours technical support when required.
• Sharing your technical knowledge and providing guidance to other team members where appropriate.
• Working collaboratively with Fleet Services colleagues, internal teams and external contractors.
• These responsibilities reflect the role’s focus on reliable equipment performance, responsive breakdown support, effective teamwork and continuous improvement.

We’re looking for someone who can bring

Relevant maintenance engineering, mechanical, or electrical trade experience.

Practical fault-finding, troubleshooting and equipment repair capability.

A strong commitment to safe work practices, hazard awareness and the appropriate use of safety equipment.

The ability to organise and prioritise work in response to changing operational needs.

Clear, professional communication and a collaborative approach.

Attention to detail and a commitment to completing maintenance work to a high standard.

A willingness to share knowledge and contribute to team capability.

An interest in improving maintenance processes,  equipment performance and service quality.
