About the Role
Our Engineering team is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join us. The ideal candidate will be professional, self-motivated and flexible with working hours, as the role involves a four-week rotating shift pattern. While previous experience in a hotel environment is preferred, it is not essential. We welcome applicants with one or more of the following backgrounds: Electrical / Mechanical / General building maintenance and repairs.

Some of the Key Responsibilities Include:
Maintain and operate building services and equipment, including air-conditioning chillers and associated plant, hot water boilers and circulation systems, pump systems, and swimming pool equipment.
Respond to and complete maintenance requests in line with the established schedule, ensuring high standards of workmanship with particular focus on guest-related tasks.
Perform repairs and maintenance to a consistently high standard to support the smooth operation of hotel services.
Conduct preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
Develop a thorough understanding of the operation and upkeep of all hotel equipment.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic knowledge of MEP systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, pumps, and swimming pool equipment.
Basic understanding of Building Maintenance Systems (BMS) and their operation.
Familiarity with plumbing infrastructure, including main and secondary drainage systems, as well as electrical power distribution networks.
Working knowledge of New Zealand Health & Safety legislation and compliance standards.
Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment (preferred but not essential).
Legal right to work in New Zealand.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Good balance and physical strength
NZ working rights
Must be flexible with working hours as this is a rotating shift position
