Mechanical Fitter

We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team based at Rutherford, working on the maintenance, overhaul and repair of underground mining equipment.

This is a hands-on opportunity to apply your mechanical expertise in a workshop environment, working on equipment essential to underground mining operations. If you enjoy fault finding, solving mechanical challenges and delivering quality workmanship as part of a team, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repairs and overhauls on underground mining equipment, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Inspect equipment, diagnose faults and identify effective repair solutions.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics and technical documentation.

Safely operate workshop machinery, tools and equipment.

Work collaboratively with the team to meet project deadlines and production requirements.

Maintain a strong focus on workplace health and safety, quality and continuous improvement.

About You

Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting (Certificate III or equivalent).

Experience in heavy industrial, mining or manufacturing environments.

Strong mechanical aptitude with proven fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.

Familiarity with underground mining equipment, particularly continuous miners, shuttle cars and associated components, will be highly regarded.

Current C Class driver’s licence and reliable transport.

A strong commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail.

A team-focused approach with good communication skills.
