St John of God Midland Public Hospital we provide a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, critical care, day chemotherapy, paediatric care, aged and stroke care, maternity and general surgery. Our 307-bed public hospital is operated under a public-private partnership between the State Government and St John of God Health Care.
Our Services includewide range of public health care services for people in Midland and surrounding communities. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, public maternity care, Aboriginal pregnancy and maternity support through Moort Boojari Mia, acute mental health treatment and medical and surgical care.
Your Role
The Nurse Manager – Administration Services provides strategic and operational leadership for administrative and support services within the clinical environment, ensuring efficient, patient-centred service delivery.
The role oversees administrative teams, manages workflow, resources, and service performance, and works collaboratively with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality patient care. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with organisational policies, improving operational processes, and maintaining effective communication across departments to enhance patient experience and service outcomes.
The Position
Monitor service standards against benchmarks (clinical indicators, incidents, satisfaction results) and implement improvements where needed.
Support ACHS accreditation, regulatory assessments, and quality and clinical risk management programs.
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes.
Encourage patient and consumer involvement in planning and decision-making.
Provide clinical support within the department to ensure safe, person-centred care.
Manage and monitor service cost centre performance, including productivity, activity, and utilisation against budget targets.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in patient care.
Contribute to marketing the service to medical practitioners.
Support workforce planning and models of care to maintain quality and appropriate skill mix.
Manage staffing resources cost-effectively, including rostering, overtime, and on-call arrangements.
Monitor payroll, absenteeism, agency use, and leave to meet budget requirements.
Support recruitment, retention, and succession planning to achieve workforce targets.
Assist in developing and implementing the annual operational/management plan.
Perform other duties as directed by the Manager or Supervisor.
Position Requirements
You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife. You will bring advanced clinical expertise and experience in senior nursing leadership within an acute hospital setting, including managing budgets, operational targets, and service performance.
The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive, patient-centred culture and effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
Candidates will also demonstrate sound analytical, problem-solving, and change management capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and risks. Well-developed computer literacy is essential, and relevant postgraduate qualifications are desirable.

We can offer you
Salary: $137, 294 per annum (pro for part time), plus 12% superannuation on pro-rate basis.
Permanent part-time position, working 19 hours per week
