Job Description

Part-Time Payroll Administrator

Join our team

We're looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Administrator on a part-time basis (24 hours a week) to support the smooth delivery of payroll services across our organisation.

In this role, you'll act as the key link between our employees, managers, People & Capability team, Finance team, and our external payroll provider. While payroll processing is managed by a specialist payroll service provider, you'll play an important role in ensuring payroll information is accurate, timely, and compliant.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with systems, solving problems, and providing excellent customer service in a people-focused environment.

What you'll be doing

Coordinating payroll information and changes with our external payroll provider.

Reviewing payroll reports and identifying discrepancies before payrolls are finalised.

Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and managers.

Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records.

Supporting payroll compliance, reporting, and audit requirements.

Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers.

Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and employee experience.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who has

  • Previous experience in payroll administration, payroll coordination, or a related administrative role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A customer-focused approach and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of people.
  • Experience using HR or payroll systems.
  • Sound judgement when dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • The ability to investigate issues, think critically, and find practical solutions.

What we'd love to see

Knowledge of New Zealand current and future payroll legislation and employment requirements.

Why join us?

You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive team where your contribution makes a real difference to employees across the organisation. We offer a positive working environment, opportunities to learn and grow, and the chance to help continuously improve our payroll and people processes.
