Payroll Officer

The Company

We’re partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation that delivers meaningful support to communities across Australia. With a strong national footprint, the organisation is seeking a knowledgeable Payroll Officer to join on a 6-month contract with the potential to go permanent.

The Role

This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to step into a busy role, support day to day payroll operations and contribute to an organisation that makes a genuine difference in the community.

Working alongside a supportive team, you will help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while assisting with payroll queries and maintaining accurate employee records.

Duties include but are not limited to

Process end to end payroll accurately and within set deadlines

Manage timesheet collection, review and processing

Follow up on missing or inaccurate timesheets and resolve discrepancies

Maintain employee records and update payroll information

Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers

Ensure payroll calculations, leave entitlements and deductions are correct

Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards and organisational policies

Support the wider finance and payroll team with general administration as required

About You

Previous experience in a payroll processing role

Experience with timesheeting and time and attendance systems

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good understanding of payroll legislation, awards and employee entitlements

Confident using payroll systems and Microsoft Excel

Strong communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information

Available to commit to an initial 6 month contract
