People and Capability Advisor

We're looking for an experienced People & Capability Advisor to join our team at South Taranaki District Council, in a full time capacity, to help us create a workplace where people can thrive.

This is a hands-on generalist role for someone who enjoys variety, builds great relationships and likes making a genuine difference.

No two days will look quite the same. You could be supporting a recruitment campaign, coaching a people leader, contributing to organisational change, working on remuneration, or helping us find smarter and better ways of working.

We're looking for someone who has:

solid generalist HR experience

sound knowledge of New Zealand employment law and employment relations

confidence providing practical, pragmatic advice to leaders

experience across areas such as recruitment, remuneration, change and workforce planning

great communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships

sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach

a genuine interest in helping people and organisations succeed

curiosity about emerging technology, including AI, and how it can improve people practices and the way we work

* a Diploma in a HR related field or be working towards a relevant qualification.
