\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\n12-hour rotating shift pattern structure (a variation of the DuPont Shift Schedule). This is a 4-week rotation between day and night shifts \r\n\r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by October 2. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n \r\n\r\nReason for vacancy: Existing Headcount \r\nHourly Rate: $38.50\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tContributes to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety standards\r\n\tMaintain/ Monitor/Test/ log all steam generating requirements by operation code\r\n\tMaintain/Monitor/Check all refrigeration equipment requirements to TSSA Standards\r\n\tParticipate in plant equipment repairs/installations\r\n\tInterface with necessary Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective and or legal requirements\r\n\tCarry out oral/ printed work requests and apply corrective measures in a timely fashion utilizing computerized maintenance system\r\n\tOther responsibilities as required\r\n\tDirectly helps the department to meet targets and goals while maintaining a healthy and safe work environment\r\n\tAddresses issues with a sense of urgency and attention to detail\r\n\tFulfills all Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS and MSDS requirements\r\n\tMaintains productivity that meets/exceeds standards\r\n\tContributes to the team and the whole facility in a positive way\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tMust hold a Refrigeration Operator Class B License or higher\r\n\t3rd class stationary engineer certificate is preferred. \r\n\tMust have experience working with ammonia cooling and compressed air systems\r\n\tMust have experience working with boilers and steam\r\n\tAble to work shifts on 24 hours/ 7-day week\r\n\tSelf-directed / motivated team player open to new technology with a sense of urgency and attention to detail\r\n\tMust have a full complement of personal/professional hand tools ID’d for Food Safety program\r\n\tAble to communicate with co-workers, Supervisors and lead hands\r\n\tAble to read and write English\r\n\tAble to do heavy lifting regularly (up to 50 lbs)\r\n\tMust be cooperative, reliable, responsible and punctual\r\n\tMust have knowledge of Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) standards\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.\r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.\r\n\tDefined Contribution Pension Plan with company matching.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n
