Production Manager

My client is an award winning business who are best described as a small-to-medium sized packaging company with a long-standing, experienced team. Based in a fresh facility that runs a 24/7 operation, free onsite parking working for a business who strives for collaboration, innovation and quality in everything they do.

Together, we are on the look out for an experienced Production Manager to step in and lead the day to day operations of the manufacturing facility.

About the Role:

This is a key leadership role where you'll be directly responsible for managing the day to day running of the Production Floor - including 5 direct reports. You'll sit on the management team, attend weekly strategy meetings, look after forecasting, production planning and be instrumental in shaping the success of the operations.

This role is hands-on where you will be coaching your team, keeping the operations running smoothly and the go to person on the floor. You will need to be comfortable stepping in to run the injection moulding machines, particularly during busy periods or for fixing the odd.

You will be working Monday to Friday, onsite with flexibility around your start and finish times.

Direct leadership of the Production Floor

Planning and scheduling efficient daily operations and KPI tracking

Providing hands-on technical support with injection moulding machines

Coaching and developing the wider team

Collaborating with wider departments to optimise performance

A strategic approach that will drive continuous improvement through LEAN methodologies

What we are looking for:

You will be a proven production leader with strong technical knowledge of plastic injection moulding and a passion for developing people and processes.

Leading from the front, you communicate clearly and thrive in a collaborative environment where your input has real impact. Ideally you would have worked with packaging, however, a career in plastics in the most important part.

You'll bring:

Proven experience in a production leadership role (plastics/injection moulding essential)

Strong technical ability on injection moulding machinery

A hands-on, proactive leadership style with the ability to coach and mentor others

Clear communication skills and strong cross-functional relationship-building ability

Understanding of LEAN, continuous improvement and operational efficiency
