\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nThe Production Supervisor plays an integral role within our manufacturing facilities.  You will be the coach on the playing field, providing leadership and guidance to our team members.   You lead by example and inspire your team to deliver top results.  You are passionate about safety and promote a culture where safety comes first.   You thrive in an environment that is fast paced and have a keen sense for continuous improvement.  Your approach is collaborative and offer a forum where everyone feels comfortable to bring forward new ideas. \r\n \r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by July 28. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEnsure daily production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.\r\n\tSupervise and coordinate floor staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing coaching or corrective action as needed.\r\n\tEnforce food safety, hygiene, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) in compliance with regulatory and company standards.\r\n\tMonitor production processes and equipment to identify issues or inefficiencies and ensure minimal downtime.\r\n\tComplete and verify production records, batch sheets, and shift reports with accuracy and timeliness.\r\n\tSupport implementation of HACCP, BRCGS, and Maple Leaf food safety standards, ensuring team compliance during operations.\r\n\tFacilitate daily shift meetings and communicate updates, changes, or concerns to team members and management.\r\n\tTrain new employees and cross-train existing staff on equipment, procedures, and safety protocols.\r\n\tPromote a culture of safety by ensuring proper PPE use, conducting safety audits, and responding to incidents appropriately.\r\n\tCollaborate with maintenance, FSQA, H&S and planning teams to resolve issues and maintain a smooth production flow.\r\n\tDemonstrate an active involvement/commitment to a progressive health and safety program and food safety program.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tHigh School Diploma or equivalent (ex. General Education Development accreditation).\r\n\tRelevant work experience within a unionized manufacturing environment.\r\n\tEffectively supervises, motivates, and develops frontline staff to achieve production goals and maintain a high-performing team\r\n\tA track record of three to five years in a supervisory role, preferably within the service or retail industry, highlighting commitment to delivering outstanding customer service alongside managing teams within a dynamic operational environment.\r\n\tAdaptable to diverse shifts and primed for overtime, demonstrating a commitment to meeting customer needs swiftly and efficiently.\r\n\tAbility to identify issues on the floor, analyzes root causes, and implements corrective actions to minimize downtime.\r\n\tStrong interpersonal skills, adept leadership, and articulate communication skills—both verbal and written—to engage effectively with customers and team members in a fast-paced setting.\r\n\tSelf-motivated and polished professionalism, exhibiting strong English communication skills (verbal, written, reading).\r\n\tProficiency in computer operations, encompassing email and spreadsheets, coupled with a readiness to swiftly grasp and utilize various software platforms (e.g., SAP, Kronos) to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.\r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
