Property Accountant

Lead budgeting and forecasting across a property portfolio

My client is seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join a specialist property lending environment, offering the opportunity to combine strong property accounting expertise with loan administration and lending operations.

This role would suit someone who enjoys end-to-end ownership of the accounting function, while also looking to gain greater exposure to the commercial side of property lending and the full lifecycle of a loan — from funding through to repayment.

You’ll be joining a hands-on, collaborative environment where everyone plays an active role in supporting the team. The role offers genuine variety and the opportunity to take ownership across both accounting and lending-related responsibilities.

Part-time or full-time options are available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities will Include

Managing month-end and year-end financial reporting processes

Preparing financial statements, management accounts and financial reporting

Managing general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, journals and balance sheet accounts

Managing loan administration from drawdown through to repayment

Maintaining accurate loan records and ensuring lending documentation and financial information is up to date

Supporting the ongoing management of the lending cycle, including variations, extensions, refinances and settlements

Assisting with cash flow management and reporting across the property lending portfolio

Identifying and resolving discrepancies, ensuring financial information is accurate and timely

Supporting the broader finance and lending teams with analysis and ad hoc reporting

The Successful Candidate will Have

A relevant degree in finance or accounting

Experience in property accounting, ideally across commercial property, property funds, property non-bank, development or a related environment

Strong knowledge of month-end and financial reporting processes

Ability to work autonomously in a lean environment

Excellent attention to detail

Experience with loan drawdowns and settlements

Strong end-to-end financial management skills, with the willingness and ability to take ownership of loan administration and the broader lending lifecycle.

You will have ownership of the financial reporting function while developing a strong understanding of how property loans operate throughout their lifecycle.
