Purchasing Officer

Millennium Hotels & Resorts New Zealand is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to support our Queenstown hotel operations.

Reporting to the Regional Purchasing Manager, you will play an important role in coordinating purchasing activities, managing inventory processes, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring departments receive the products and supplies they need to operate efficiently.

This is a varied, hands-on role that combines purchasing, administration, stock control, and supplier coordination. Working closely with department leaders and suppliers, you'll help ensure purchasing processes are completed accurately, stock levels are maintained, and invoices are processed efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

- Assist the Regional Purchasing Manager with daily purchasing operations.

- Order, receive, and distribute goods across hotel departments.

- Process purchase orders, invoices, and supplier documentation.

- Follow up on deliveries, stock discrepancies, and supplier queries.

- Support monthly stocktakes and inventory management.

- Maintain purchasing records and reporting.

- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and supplier agreements.

- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.

What we're looking for:

You'll be highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience in purchasing, administration, stock control, or hospitality operations.

- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

- Good computer literacy and data entry accuracy.

- Confidence working with suppliers and internal teams.

- Experience processing invoices or working with financial information.

- A positive, team-focused attitude.

- Hospitality industry experience would be an advantage.
