Looking for a nursing role that’s a little different?

This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your clinical nursing skills with research, community engagement and public health as part of the WellKiwis Study, an internationally significant longitudinal study exploring how early-life exposure to influenza influences immunity throughout life.

As a Research Nurse, you’ll work with infants, adults and household participants, supporting clinical activities, data and sample collection, participant engagement and community outreach. It’s a varied role that would suit a Registered Nurse who enjoys working with people, likes variety in their day and wants to contribute to work with a wider public health impact.

  • Based at the New Zealand Institute for Public Health and Forensic Science, Wallaceville Science Centre, Upper Hutt.
  • While the role is primarily Monday to Friday, some flexibility is required for early starts, later finishes and occasional weekend work to meet participant and community needs.

  • Support research activities in accordance with study protocols and ethical requirements.

About you

You’ll bring

  • Proven phlebotomy experience across all age groups, which is essential for this role
  • A full New Zealand driver’s licence and confidence driving throughout the Wellington region
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability in your working day
