Job Description
Registered Nurse – Permanent Full time (1.0 FTE)
Make a Meaningful Difference with Hospice Whanganui
Bring your nursing expertise, compassion, and heart to a team that truly makes a difference.
At Hospice Whanganui, we believe every person deserves to live with dignity, comfort, choice, and connection—right through to the end of life.
We provide compassionate, specialist palliative care, free of charge to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their whānau across the Whanganui District, Waimarino region, and South Taranaki.
Our care goes far beyond managing symptoms. We take a truly holistic, person- and whānau-centred approach, supporting physical, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing. From specialist nursing and symptom management to advocacy, spiritual care, bereavement support, and education, we walk alongside people and their whānau when they need us most.
Be part of something bigger!
As a Hospice Whanganui nurse, you’ll be at the heart of a connected community health network. We work closely with GPs, District Nursing teams, St John, aged residential care, hospitals, pharmacies, and other community providers to ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
What makes us unique is our nurse-led, patient- and whānau-led approach. We’re available 24/7, providing flexible and responsive care across the community, hospital, aged residential care, and our inpatient unit.
No two days are the same—and that’s what makes this role so rewarding.
