Registered Nurse - Family Healthcare Support
About the Role:
There is a total of 2.0 EFT available within the Family Healthcare Support team.
This role works across Family Healthcare Support, providing education and training to support workers in schools, kindergartens and in the child's home. This is a state wide program therefore regional travel will be required with adequate notice and planning. The role is a Monday to Friday position.

You will be responsible for:
Providing family centred care through a holistic approach using systematic assessment of the child's medical needs in conjunction with their psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs
Planning and implement nursing care for patients in the Post-acute Care service, Homecare Program, School Care Program and Family Healthcare Supoort
Facilitating the training and assessment of support workers for in-home care for eligible patients
Classification for this position will be YU15 (base salary $115,289.20 per annum, plus superannuation).
What you'll achieve:
Comprehensive and systematic nursing assessment to improve the quality of nursing care
Uses a range of assessment techniques to collect relevant and accurate data
Ensure appropriate information is developed and maintained appropriately to support the delivery of community care
Provide clinical advice regarding non-urgent nursing or medical queries
Your Skills and Experience:
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously as necessary
Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills
Proven ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in performing duties
Valid Victorian drivers licence
Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible to changing priorities and environment
Minimum of 3 years paediatric nursing experience

About Family Healthcare Support:
The RCH Family Healthcare Support Team provide trained workers to care for children with medical complexity at home. This provision allows parents of children who require frequent medical interventions the time to rest and attend to other responsibilities. Support shifts are provided for eligible children known to the RCH Complex Care Hub or through NDIS funding. Workers are based throughout the state of Victoria and provide care to children in their local area. This remote workforce is coordinated through a central team onsite at the RCH.
Family Healthcare shifts are provided by a trained support worker who undertakes child focused training and operates within strict parameters clearly documented in a child's specific care manual. Workers maintain a safe environment for the children they support, delivering all care required during the shift, including identifying and responding to predictable changes in care. The service also provides training for workers in schools and kindergartens across the state.

Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
Valid Working with Children Check
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Compliance with RCHs "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure
