\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nReporting to the Reliability Manager, this position will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing equipment and processes by the application of engineering principles with a LEAN approach.\r\n\r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by June 08. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n\r\n\r\nReason for vacancy:  Incremental Headcount\r\nCompensation:   $71,000 - $103,000 CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive\r\n \r\n\r\nThe above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours.  In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tProvide leadership and support for manufacturing improvement projects aimed at enhancing equipment, processes, and systems to increase plant capacity, line efficiency, and Preventive Maintenance effectiveness.\r\n\tValidate new and existing processes with Reliability team.\r\n\tReview and participate in new equipment designs / upgrades / overhauls and oversee the commissioning process.\r\n\tApply Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies to support process improvements.\r\n\tParticipate in Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSHSRs), review findings, and manage updates.\r\n\tReview and approve any equipment and process changes to assess and confirm safety implications (MOC)\r\n\tReview and approve process documentation to standardize team member activities and procedures.\r\n\tDefine and oversee all visual management tools for the shop floor, including daily and weekly reporting.\r\n\tDevelop equipment and process modifications to support Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) reduction and failure prevention.\r\n\tSupport the execution of preventive maintenance activities, lead optimization efforts, and coordinate contractor support.\r\n\tDevelop and oversee predictive maintenance activities.\r\n\tOversee the breakdown management system, including troubleshooting, reporting and analysis, and recurrence prevention.\r\n\tDevelop reliability standards for performance measurement.\r\n\tDemonstrate full commitment to implementing the Global Standard for Food Safety requirements and driving continual improvement in food safety and quality management processes.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCollege or university education in Engineering or an Engineering Technologist Diploma (mechanical, industrial, or electrical).\r\n\t3–5 years of engineering experience, preferably within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.\r\n\tExcellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD, with solid to advanced spreadsheet capabilities, complemented by strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\r\n\tStrong verbal and written communication skills.\r\n\tSelf-motivated and passionate individual with a high sense of urgency who thrives on managing diverse tasks and consistently delivering results across multiple priorities.\r\n\tExperience with Lean manufacturing principles.\r\n\tSAP knowledge an asset\r\n\tWell-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within team dynamics.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best. \r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
