**Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy – Business School**

This new full-time post is available from immediately on a fixed term basis until August 2026.

**About the role**

The University of Exeter runs the College for Doctoral Training in Environmental Intelligence: Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Sustainable Futures, funded by UKRI EPSRC. Environmental Intelligence represents the use of Data Science & AI to create transformational science and tools to enable informed decision making across a range of sectors related to the environment and society, including climate, water, energy, social justice, communications, ecology, finance and insurance, infrastructure and health. The rapidly growing availability of data from multiple, inter-related sources, provides the opportunity for a step-change in our ability to find solutions to important challenges related to our interaction with the natural environment.

The CDT provides an inter-disciplinary training environment for over 50 PhD students, across 6 cohorts. Students are equipped with the skills to become leaders in Environmental Intelligence, and with career prospects across academia and the public and private sectors. It is a critical and exciting time in the life-cycle of the CDT and assessing the progress and outputs of our students’ research is critical to the continued development of this emerging research agenda.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the CDT through conducting analysis and writing up of the EICDT Legacy research project - a piece of work undertaken in partnership with and investigating CDT students’ approaches to working in an interdisciplinary environment, as well as the methodologies and ethical considerations across all PhD projects. The PDRA will work closely with the Centre Directors, Centre Management team, and CDT students.
