AS Wilcox & Sons are seeking two Seasonal Quality Controllers to support our busy onion export season.

Successful candidates will commence between November and early December 2026, joining our grading team to learn our products, quality standards, and packhouse processes. As the export season ramps up in January 2027, you will transition into a Quality Control role, helping ensure our produce meets customer, export, and quality specifications.

This is a hands-on role that will suit people who enjoy working on the floor, being part of a team, and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

• Monitor product quality and grading standards throughout the packing process
• Communicate quality requirements and specification changes to packing teams
• Work closely with Team Leaders and staff to ensure product meets customer and export requirements
• Carry out quality checks, record results, and support compliance activities
• Assist with grading and general packhouse duties as required
• Support continuous improvement and maintain a strong focus on product quality
• What We're Looking For

• Experience in quality control, horticulture, food production, packhouse operations, manufacturing, or a similar environment
• Physically fit and comfortable working on your feet for extended periods
• Willing and able to work long hours during peak seasonal periods, including up to 12-hour days, 5-6 days a week
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in wherever needed
• Confidence communicating with a diverse workforce, including employees from different cultural and language backgrounds
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and help teams adjust when product specifications or grading requirements change throughout the day
• Reliable, hardworking, and a strong team player
• * Preference will be given to candidates with phytosanitary inspection experience, but training will be provided.
