Senior Finance Business Partner

About the Company

Our client is a large, established New Zealand manufacturing business with a national footprint. Finance here is not a back office function. It sits at the centre of how the business makes money.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager and leading a small team of business partners and analysts, you will bring the strongest commercial challenge to pricing, volume, margin and mix decisions across sales, operations and supply chain. You will own the planning, insight and modelling behind those decisions, and act as trusted deputy to the Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the finance business partnering function across sales, operations and supply chain

Challenge pricing, discounting and rebate decisions with credible commercial evidence

Own the budget and forecast build, including process and timelines across all functions

Lead monthly performance reporting and senior leadership packs

Deliver advanced volume, price and mix modelling to underpin major decisions

Set the direction of the pricing framework using market and competitor intelligence

Provide commercial rigour to business cases developed across the team

Coach and develop the team, building capability and clear performance expectations

Key Skills & Experience Required:

CA or CPA qualified with a tertiary qualification in business, commerce or finance

Proven commercial finance or business partnering experience, including people leadership

Track record partnering directly with a sales function on pricing, discounting and rebates

Manufacturing experience strongly preferred; you understand overhead absorption, volume and factory economics

Advanced modelling capability, including complex commercial and margin models

The credibility and conviction to challenge senior leaders and hold an opinion under pressure

Advanced Excel with strong BI, reporting and planning tool exposure

Experience building high-performing teams through feedback and development
