Senior Laravel / PHP Integration Developer
Job Description
A growing New Zealand business is building its own technology hub from scratch and needs an experienced Laravel developer to get it over the line. It's a real build, not a maintenance gig, with a large pipeline of work lining up behind it.

The Role
Design and build well-documented API endpoints into and out of a central integration platform
Connect core business systems, including e-commerce (Shopify) and CRM (Zoho), plus ERP and retail platforms
Build the verification and authorisation layer and help shape the business rules
Bring fragmented data together into one data warehouse
Replace existing Alteryx workflows with maintainable, secure code
Use AI coding and API tools to move fast and keep documentation current
Agree scope with the Lead Architect and wider team, then get on and deliver
What You'll Bring
Must haves
- Strong commercial PHP and Laravel experience
- Proven REST API design and build, with solid documentation (OpenAPI or similar)
- Authentication and authorisation experience (Sanctum, Passport or OAuth)
- Experience integrating third party APIs, including older or awkward ones
- Data modelling and ETL skills
- A track record of working independently and delivering to an agreed scope
- Practical, sensible use of AI coding tools
Nice to haves
Shopify or Zoho CRM integration experience
Alteryx or other low-code migration experience
Business rules engine or data warehouse experience
Front end work is not part of this role. A separate team looks after the React side.
