- Matrix Security Group is looking for an experienced Senior Security Technician to join our growing Technology Solutions team in Auckland.
- This is a hands-on senior role where you’ll take ownership of installations and commissioning, solve complex technical issues, work directly with clients and support developing technicians.
- You’ll have the autonomy to manage your work, backed by an experienced and supportive team.
- Most of our work is Auckland-based, with minimal out-of-town travel.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll work across commercial, industrial and corporate sites, including:
- Installing and commissioning access control, IP video surveillance and intercom systems
- Servicing, maintaining and fault-finding electronic security systems
- Diagnosing complex technical and network-related issues
- Working directly with clients and building strong relationships
- Providing technical guidance to developing technicians
- Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Participating in an on-call roster approximately once every 4–5 weeks
About you
We’re looking for an experienced security technician who enjoys solving technical problems, takes ownership of their work and is ready for greater responsibility.
Ideally, you’ll have
Minimum 5+ years’ electronic security experience
Strong commercial installation, commissioning and servicing experience
Good knowledge of IP-based security systems and networking
Experience with Gallagher, Integriti, Protégé, Inception or similar
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
A professional approach with customers
The ability to work independently and support less-experienced technicians
You’ll also need a Full NZ Driver Licence, a current Security Certificate of Approval (COA) or the ability to obtain one, and the legal right to work in New Zealand.
