\r\n\r\n Job Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nThe Maple Leaf Foods (MLF) Procurement team is responsible for the Strategic Sourcing of goods and services across the organization. The team is focused on generating value for the business, lowering organizational risk and providing excellent stakeholder support.\r\n\r\n\r\nAn opportunity exists to join the Procurement team as a Sourcing Buyer, this position is responsible for working collaboratively with Procurement team members and business stakeholders to strategically source categories to improve overall value to MLF.  The successful candidate can expect to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be exposed to Six Sigma methodologies delivered through ARIBA and SAP platforms.  The incumbent will immediately engage in challenging Strategic Sourcing initiatives.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Sourcing Buyer will work closely with Procurement operations, the leadership team, and key stakeholders on competitive cost sourcing initiatives of assigned spend categories. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours.  In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tWork collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to create and implement strategic sourcing strategies\r\n\tProvide leadership and expertise in a variety of areas including category strategy support and development, RFX development and oversight, and vendor negotiations\r\n\tDevelop and execute source plans for key spend categories\r\n\tRun transparent RFX events\r\n\tParticipate in contract negotiations with key vendors\r\n\tLead cross-functional project teams to execute sourcing initiatives\r\n\tManage constructive supplier relationships for assigned categories\r\n\tMeet annual cost reduction targets in assigned categories\r\n\tFacilitate bids, analysis and negotiations for goods and services\r\n\tLead accurate and timely processing of all purchase orders according to MLF standard process\r\n\tManage the business relationship with key suppliers through supporting activities including ordering, communication of demand/volume/ delivery time changes, issue resolution, sharing end-user feedback, follow up on backorders, etc.\r\n\tDevelop a strong understanding and knowledge of suppliers and capabilities\r\n\tAssist with contract development and execution\r\n\tManage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of good and services that meet the quality, service and price performance standards of the company\r\n\tIdentify, prioritize and impact key business opportunities\r\n\tWork with stakeholders and leadership teams to implement and enforce polices that increase spend visibility and compliance\r\n\tWork closely with Finance teams to expedite receiving and AP processes\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPost secondary education, preferably in Business or Engineering\r\n\t2-3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing / Procurement or related discipline\r\n\tSuperior analytical skills – able to draw insights and form recommendations\r\n\tHigh level of energy and enthusiasm with ability to project influential leadership\r\n\tTeam player with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills\r\n\tWell organized; able to balance multiple competing priorities\r\n\tProficient user of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)\r\n\tExperience working in an SAP environment is an asset\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best. \r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
