Bison is a Dunedin-based company that designs and manufactures container lifting, weighing and moving equipment, for customers around the world. We’re a small team, which means you’ll get real responsibility from day one and see how an export manufacturing business works from end to end.
About the role
This is a hands-on entry-level role, ideal for a recent graduate or someone early in their career. Reporting to our Production Manager, you’ll help keep production supplied with materials and get finished equipment to our customers on time. You’ll work closely with our production, engineering and sales teams, and receive training in purchasing, logistics, customer service and modern business systems.
What you’ll do
Prepare and place purchase orders with our suppliers, and follow up on deliveries.
Process customer orders and keep our sales team updated on progress.
Book international shipments and work with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
Help with stocktakes and keep inventory records accurate.
Keep our ERP system up to date, and help find better ways of working.
About you
You don’t need years of experience. We care more about your attitude, communication and confidence with technology. You’ll be:
A clear and professional communicator, in writing and in person.
Good with numbers and careful with detail.
Confident using spreadsheets and quick to learn new software.
Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to work smarter.
Organised and able to juggle competing deadlines.
A proactive self-starter.
A business, commerce or supply chain qualification is a plus, as is an affinity for mechanical systems and experience in purchasing, logistics or working with an ERP system. None of this is essential.
