Tig B-Pressure Welder - Woodfibre

Position Summary

• Kiewit is hiring experienced TIG & RMD/FCAW B-Pressure Hand Welders for the Woodfibre project located in Squamish, BC.
• Hiring: Up to 10 positions
• Terms of employment: Full-time; project-based

• Job Duties

Duties include

• Completing carbon steel & stainless steel (304L) closure welds for module interconnects
• Working in tight spaces/at heights
• Completing carbon steel and stainless steel (304L) welds for new construction piping systems
• Work Setting & Job Requirements

• Valid Journeyperson Red Seal Welding ticket or an equivalent certification with the ability and willingness to apply for a recognized credential through a provincial trades qualifier program.
• Valid BC Class A Pressure Welder certification
• + If you hold an equivalent certification/experience, you must be willing and able to obtain BC registration
• 5+ years’ experience with TIG (GTAW) welding stainless steel and carbon
• 5+ years’ experience with stick (SMAW) hand welding
• RMD experience is an asset
• Must pass weld tests per company standards – Stainless TIG, Carbon TIG, Carbon Stick, RMD/FCAW
• Must have experience performing welding work in outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, and restricted spaces
• Upon an offer, all candidates must be able to pass a SureHire Drug, Alcohol, & 50lb Fitness to work test
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required

14 x 7 days, 10-hour shifts; overtime as per collective agreement

Benefits Information

• Base Wage: $56.00 for B-Pressure Tig Welders
• + If DSP: $63.35
• Additional site premiums available upon:
• Successful completion of 30 DI using RMD
• Completion of 50 DI with no repair
• Union Benefits – 6% vacation pay, 4.4% statutory holiday pay, health and welfare benefits (disability insurance, dental insurance, extended medical coverage, RSP contributions, matching pension contributions
