About the role
Top Flyte Stairs manufactures timber staircases for the New Zealand construction industry. We're looking for a reliable, practical person who takes pride in their workmanship to join our Tauranga factory team. You'll bring joinery knowledge or experience and confidence working with timber, tools and machinery. You must be able to read and understand job cards and technical drawings, measure accurately and follow production instructions.
Key responsibilities
Reading job cards, technical drawings and cutting lists to prepare each job
Measuring, marking out, cutting and machining timber components
Assembling staircases using adhesives, fixings, clamps and hand or power tools
Checking dimensions, alignment and workmanship throughout production
Sanding, finishing, labelling and packing completed products
Moving timber and staircases, including heavy lifting and loading
Helping with stock checks and general factory duties
Keeping tools, equipment and work areas safe and organised
About you
Joinery knowledge or experience is preferred; related woodworking or timber machining experience is also valued
Ability to read and understand job cards, technical drawings and measurements
Practical skills using hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment
Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
Reliability, punctuality and the ability to follow instructions
Clear communication and a willingness to help the wider team
A strong commitment to safe working practices
Ability to safely handle timber, components and staircases, using lifting equipment and team lifts where appropriate
New Zealand citizen or holder of a New Zealand Resident Visa or Permanent Resident Visa
Benefits
$27–$30 per hour, based on your skills and experience
