We are in a period of substantial investment and with that comes exciting career opportunities for the right candidates to join our high performing team.
The role
Join Alpine in this newly created role as a Traffic Management Planner & Coordinator. You’ll help shape how we approach traffic management across Alpine, building a practical, risk-based approach that responds to changing RCA requirements and evolving traffic management practices. You’ll develop site-specific TMPs and work across the business to ensure maintenance, capital works and fault response activities have the right controls in place for the risks involved.
As our TM Planner and Coordinator for our Works Delivery team, you will be responsible for:
Using a risk-based approach to develop and prepare site-specific Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Corridor Access Requests (CARs), and supporting documentation in line with NZGTTM requirements and Road Controlling Authority standards.
Coordinating approvals, permits, and traffic management activities through our systems, while managing workflow priorities to support operational and project delivery schedules.
Building strong relationships with Councils, Road Controlling Authorities, Contractors, and internal stakeholders while providing technical guidance, supporting continuous improvement, and helping deliver safe, compliant, and effective traffic management outcomes.
What you’ll need
Practising TTMP and/or Practising STMS qualifications or relevant experience.
Knowledge of temporary traffic management principles, legislation, and New Zealand industry standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.
Nice to have
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant planning systems
Experience within utilities, infrastructure, roading, or traffic management environments, including familiarity with RCA approval processes and planning systems

Our Timaru office helps too. With panoramic views, great coffee, fresh fruit, and spaces designed for both focus and connection, it’s an environment that supports how you work best.
You’ll also experience a strong health and safety culture, ongoing development opportunities, and a team that takes pride in supporting each other and the wider community.
