Welder – Australia-Based Role

About Gallagher

At Gallagher, our purpose is simple: Protect what matters most.

For more than 85 years, we’ve been designing and manufacturing products that support farmers and rural communities around the world. As part of Gallagher, Norton Livestock Handling Solutions manufactures livestock handling equipment, farm gates and yard systems for the Australian market.

Our Hastings, Australia team combines the security and backing of the global Gallagher brand with the feel of a close-knit local manufacturing team. It’s steady, hands-on work where quality matters and you can take real pride in what you build.

The Opportunity

Already thinking about making the move across the Tasman?

We’re looking for Production Welders to join our manufacturing team in Hastings, Victoria, on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula located an hour and a half from Melbourne.

This is a great opportunity for a New Zealand welder who wants the lifestyle change Australia offers, without giving up the things that matter: stable employment, job security and predictable Monday–Friday work. You’ll enjoy a standard five day week, with weekends free to enjoy the lifestyle.

You’ll work alongside an experienced manufacturing team, welding, fabricating and assembling Norton livestock handling equipment. There’s plenty of variety across the product range, along with opportunities to broaden your skills.

The Fit

We’re looking for someone who knows their way around a workshop, takes pride in doing a good job and enjoys being part of a team.

You'll ideally bring

• Experience in welding or fabrication within a manufacturing environment
• MIG welding experience, with TIG and ARC experience advantageous
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• A practical, team-first attitude
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Trade qualifications or welding certifications are highly regarded, but aren't essential for the right person.
• Why Make the Move?

If Australia has been on your radar, this could be an opportunity to make the move with stable employment already sorted.

You’ll get consistent five-day weeks, steady work and the security of an established manufacturer, while living on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, around 1.5 hours from Melbourne.

Rather than shift work or weekend-heavy rosters, this is a role offering a straightforward working week and the opportunity to build a long-term career with Gallagher.

Ready for a change of scenery? Apply now and take your welding career across the Tasman.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received and an appointment may be made prior to the listing closing, so we encourage you to apply early.
