This is an opportunity for someone with strong operational capability who is ready to take greater ownership, with the scope to grow into broader operational leadership as the role and business evolve.

The Regions Immigration Law & Recruitment is looking for a Business Operations & Capability Lead to join our Hamilton team.

For nine years, we've supported employers and candidates across regional New Zealand through recruitment, immigration and settlement.

As our business continues to evolve, we're strengthening the operating structure behind it - and we're looking for someone who can help us connect people, processes, projects, systems and performance.

Working closely with one of our Directors and our management team, you'll help establish practical operating rhythms, meaningful KPIs, stronger project disciplines and clearer processes across the business.

Most importantly, you'll help turn ideas and decisions into implementation and measurable outcomes.

This isn't a traditional administration role. It's an opportunity for an experienced operations or project professional to develop toward broader operational leadership.

What You'll Be Doing

Help establish effective weekly, monthly and quarterly operating rhythms.

Develop meaningful KPIs, scorecards and management reporting with our leaders.

Turn business priorities into clear project and implementation plans.

Coordinate cross-functional projects from idea through to implementation.

Establish clear owners, milestones, deadlines and measures of success.

Keep projects moving and identify roadblocks early.

Improve accountability and follow-through on agreed actions.

Review and improve operational processes and workflows.

Coordinate people and capability initiatives including onboarding, development and performance processes.

Develop practical tools and resources that help managers lead effectively.

Coordinate business systems and technology improvement projects.

Work with external technology providers to translate business needs into practical solutions.

Coordinate testing, training and adoption when processes or systems change.

Improve SOPs, documentation and operational consistency.

Identify practical opportunities to make the business simpler and more effective.

What We're Looking For

Your exact job title today matters less than the experience and thinking you bring.

You might currently be a Operations Manager, Business Operations Lead, Project Lead, Business Improvement Lead or People & Operations Lead

You'll ideally bring

Experience coordinating projects across multiple teams or stakeholders.

Strong project planning, implementation and follow-through.

Exposure to KPIs, scorecards, management reporting or operating rhythms.

Experience improving business processes.

An understanding of people and capability practices.

Strong digital confidence and an interest in how systems can improve the way businesses operate.

Experience with CRM, workflow or project-management systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Confidence working with managers and senior stakeholders.

Excellent organisation and written communication.

The ability to turn broad objectives into clear actions and outcomes.

Proven experience implementing business improvements across processes, systems, KPIs and reporting, with the ability to turn operational needs into practical solutions and measurable results

The Opportunity

You'll work closely with the Operations Director across operations, people capability and business systems while bringing your own operational and project experience into the business.

Initially, you'll focus on understanding The Regions and helping build stronger operational foundations.

As your knowledge and capability develop, you'll progressively take greater ownership of:

Operating Rhythm | KPIs & Reporting | Projects | People Capability | Process Improvement | Systems Implementation

The longer-term opportunity is to grow from someone who coordinates and implements operational improvement into someone who can identify priorities, integrate teams and lead operational performance and capability.

Progression will be based on demonstrated capability, successful delivery and business requirements.
