About the opportunities

Jigsaw Staffing is seeking expressions of interest from experienced CNC Programmer/Machinists for current and upcoming permanent positions with established engineering and manufacturing businesses.

These opportunities may suit machinists who enjoy producing high-quality components, solving technical challenges and taking ownership of jobs from programming and setup through to final inspection.

Key responsibilities may include

Programming CNC mills, lathes or machining centres

Setting up machines, tooling, fixtures and workholding

Producing one-off, prototype and production components

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds

Completing in-process measurements and quality checks

Troubleshooting programming and machining issues

Maintaining accurate tolerances and high standards of workmanship

Supporting continuous improvement within the workshop

About you

Proven CNC programming and machining experience

Experience operating CNC mills, lathes or machining centres

Confidence programming either at the machine or through CAD/CAM software

Strong knowledge of tooling, materials, speeds and feeds

The ability to read technical drawings and work to tight tolerances

Experience with Fanuc, Fagor, Mazatrol, Heidenhain, Siemens or similar controls

A relevant trade qualification or substantial practical experience

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

A commitment to quality and safe working practices

Experience with manual machining, fitting, fabrication or welding may also be advantageous.
