**Who We Are**
Simon Fraser University is a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future. Our purpose – the essence of SFU – is to create and connect knowledge, learning and community for deeper understanding and meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering excellence, innovation, belonging and community in all that we do.
Renewable Cities uses dialogue, systems thinking and applied research to convene groups and build capacity to co-create practical solutions that address interconnected urban challenges in British Columbia and across Canada, including housing and transportation. We work to catalyze the transition to equitable, livable and resilient communities.
We are part of the SFU Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue. Our expertise lies in facilitating evidence-informed dialogue, convening cross-sector actors to address shared challenges, and developing practical resources that map pathways forward.
**About the Role**
As Communications and Events Coordinator, you will fill a key role with communications and events at Renewable Cities. Working closely with the team, you’ll help translating dialogue and research outcomes into clear, practical and accessible materials across formats, including designing and formatting content for publications, newsletters and web.
You will also coordinate event logistics for workshops and other engagement activities with policymakers, industry and service providers.
You will support ongoing initiatives that address climate, sustainability, equity and resilience in urban regions.
You bring strong writing, editing and digital design skills, along with experience in formatting and publishing. You are organized, able to manage multiple priorities, enjoy working with people and work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment. You are comfortable coordinating logistics, engaging with people both in-person and online. You bring a spirit of flexibility, hospitality and generosity, and embrace a reflective growth culture, with desire to learn, adapt and share knowledge while being open to change and continuous improvement. You take initiative and anticipate next steps to ensure smooth delivery of effective communications and successful events.
