The Labour Relations team at Simon Fraser University strives to maintain harmonious working relationships with the employee groups on campus. We provide:
- Collective agreement and policy interpretation.
- Collective bargaining.
- Advice and guidance on the grievance procedure.
- Support to investigations and arbitrations.
**About the Role**
The Director, Labour and Employee Relations provides leadership and directs a team of Labour Relations professionals who provide effective consultation on and resolution of employee and labour relations inquiries and issues from academic and administrative leaders, and Strategic Business Partners. The Director works with leaders, Human Resources, and Faculty Relations to promote fair treatment and the consistent and lawful application of University employment and labour related policies, and guiding legislation. The Director is also the Chief Negotiator for collective bargaining for all agreements not including the faculty association (SFUFA), instructs external legal counsel, and serves as the University’s advocate in arbitrations and mediations.
