Design Manager

This first-class organisation, having ongoing large-scale commercial projects & a pipeline to back it are seeking a talented Design Manager to join the team; overseeing the design process, ensuring that all projects meet commercial, contractual, and technical requirements while adhering to current legislation and standards.

Skills and Experience

• 5+ years’ specific NZ Design Management experience, commercial main contractor (overall 10+ years industry exp)
• Strong understanding of design standards, codes of practice and current legislation
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Stakeholder and consultant management; proven ability to manage design processes and coordinate with project teams

Responsibilities

•    Oversee the design process, ensuring compliance with all HSE policies and procedures

•    Conduct design reviews of tender documentation and develop risk mitigation strategies

•    Collaborate on design development and review with subcontractors

•    Ensure the design process meets contract obligations and aligns with the company's strategic direction

•    Manage authority processes pre-construction, including obtaining building consents
