Full Stack Developer

About the Role

My client is seeking a hands-on developer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable applications that drive business success. While the focus will be primarily on backend development (around 80%), there's also scope to contribute to frontend development (20%) using modern frameworks.

You'll be joining a small but highly capable team where collaboration and innovation are at the heart of everything they do. The role also emphasises secure coding practices and high-performance solutions.

What My Client Is Looking For

The ideal candidate will have

• 2-3 years of experience as a full-stack developer.
• Strong backend skills with Java and frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Frontend experience with modern frameworks such as Angular.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with databases like MariaDB (or other RDBMS).
• A solid understanding of secure coding principles and application security best practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10).

Bonus points if you've worked with

• Container tools like Docker.
• Automated testing frameworks such as Selenium or BDD Cucumber.
• CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
• Above all, my client values curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to development.
• The Tech Environment

Here's what you'll be working with

• Frontend: JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular.
• Backend: Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture.
• Databases: MariaDB (primary), OrientDB (secondary).
• Tools & Platforms: IntelliJ IDE, Gradle, Git, Docker.
• CI/CD Tools: Jenkins and GitLab.
• The company currently prefers on-premises infrastructure over cloud platforms.
• Working Model

This role is based in CBD fringe, Auckland, New Zealand. While it's primarily office-based, my client offers flexible working arrangements. You can work from home on Mondays and Fridays
