General Labourers

About the RoleUnite Recruit is looking for reliable, physically fit and hardworking General Labourers for a range of opportunities in Christchurch and surrounding areas.

Our clients operate across civil construction, manufacturing, warehousing, furniture moving and container unloading. Duties will vary depending on the assignment, so we're looking for people who are flexible, willing to learn and happy to roll up their sleeves wherever needed.

With the busy summer season approaching, we need dependable workers who are prepared for physically demanding work and changing conditions, including working outdoors in warm weather where required.

These are casual opportunities that may lead to ongoing or long-term work for the right candidates. There may also be opportunities to upskill and develop additional skills over time.

What You'll Be Doing

Assisting civil construction crews with general labouring and site preparation.

Supporting manufacturing and warehouse operations.

Loading and unloading containers, moving stock and handling materials.

Assisting with furniture removals, lifting and transporting items safely.

Maintaining clean, tidy and safe work areas.

Following instructions from supervisors and complying with workplace health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling and repetitive physical tasks.

Reliable, punctual and ready to work when rostered.

Willing to learn, take direction and follow instructions.

Flexible and comfortable working across different types of labouring assignments.

Prepared to work through the busy summer season and handle the conditions associated with the role.

Own reliable transport to travel to work sites.

A positive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety.

Previous labouring, civil construction, manufacturing, warehousing or furniture-moving experience is an advantage, but the right attitude and willingness to work are essential.

$24.00–$26.00 per hour.
