Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Plant Mechanic / Crane Mechanic

About the role
You will be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs and major inspection work on a range of mobile slewing and pick and carry cranes. This is a varied position combining field service and workshop-based repairs, suited to a confident tradesperson who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems and taking pride in their workmanship.
Key responsibilities
Servicing, maintenance and repairs of Tadano, Franna, Demag and Grove mobile cranes
Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs
Attending field service breakdowns and carrying out repairs independently
Workshop-based repairs, component replacements and overhauls
Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
Boom disassembly, inspections, repairs and reassembly
Air conditioning diagnostics, servicing and repairs
Carrying out work associated with 10-year major inspections
Planning and completing jobs efficiently, including identifying required parts and materials
Completing accurate service reports and repair documentation
About you
A recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Plant Mechanic trade qualification
A minimum of 3 years post-trade experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent fault-finding abilities
Proven experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems
The ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
The confidence to work independently in both field service and workshop environments
The ability to plan, prioritise and complete jobs efficiently
High attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship
A current valid C-class driver's licence
