Job Description

Do you want to join our growing team? We have a Horticulture Assistant vacant position for someone with experience working in a technical capacity on a farm.

Must have

Previous experience in a technical farm-based role

Ability to communicate with all stakeholders both internally and externally

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following activities

In conjunction with the farm manager, oversee farm activities
Learn to operate and maintain – irrigation and fertigation systems, fertilizer tanks, pumps, valves, pipes/fittings, drip tape and filters.
Assist with the soil moisture monitoring using appropriate technology, including analysing and interpreting data for irrigation scheduling purposes.
Undertake pest and disease field monitoring and assist in the development of control programs.
Assist, monitor and review pruning practices in conjunction with the technical team and management.
Assist with pre-harvest research and data management, including fruit maturity and oil accumulation analysis.
* Perform Grove operations such as spraying, slashing, fueling.
