IWS Maintenance Lead

We’re looking for an IWS Maintenance Lead to join our iconic Papakura manufacturing site. You’ll lead the maintenance side of all things IWS, eliminating breakdown-related losses through effective root-cause analysis and embedding sustainable countermeasures, including preventative maintenance standards. A key part of the role is creating clear, practical maintenance plans and building the capability of Operating Teams to deliver strong, reliable line results.

The role will predominantly work day shift, with the flexibility to support all three shifts at our Papakura plant when needed.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Planning and implementing productivity initiatives and improvement projects that reduce downtime and improve OE and plant optimisation

Motivating, coaching, and supporting operators and equipment owners through technical training and qualification, including the Equipment Ownership Roadmap

Rolling up your sleeves to support Operations teams with major breakdowns and get equipment back on track

Reviewing and prioritising incidents and stoppages from the previous 24 hours, then planning maintenance and repair work for the next 24 hours and coordinating completion during scheduled downtime

Co-owning area repair budgets in partnership with the Line Lead and Engineering/Technical Manager

Keeping overdue work orders current, correctly classified, and prioritised by urgency, working with the Maintenance Planner where applicable

Preparing and leading Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (MP&S), ensuring the right work, resources, and timing are aligned for successful execution

Bringing technical expertise to the development of the 90-day loss-elimination plan and helping turn priorities into practical actions

What you’ll bring to the role:

3-5 years’ manufacturing experience, with demonstrated technical aptitude and leadership

Hands-on maintenance planning and scheduling experience, with the ability to prioritise work, coordinate resources, and deliver to agreed timeframes

Proven experience using computerised maintenance management systems to manage work orders, schedules, and maintenance information

Excellent communication skills—you keep everyone informed, aligned, and ready to go

A genuine love of teamwork—you enjoy collaborating and are always ready to lend a hand

A positive, solutions-focused approach—you see challenges as opportunities to improve

Plenty of initiative, with the ability to self-motivate, organise your workload, and work confidently without close supervision
